Method Man’s The Meth Lab Title Track is Officially Here!

We’re getting closer to the due date of Method Man’s Tommy Boy Records Album.

It was just earlier this week that Wu-Tang member Method Man announced the release date for his new album, "The Meth Lab."

Along with the announcement he released The Meth Lab trailer that really got viewers anxiety going.

This animated visual gives you a taste of the hardcore persona that this up-and-coming album takes on.

With the amazing cover art and trailer, Method Man has really lowered us into his layer with this newly dropped title-track.

This particular song features artist Hanz On and Street Life, but the album itself contains artist Redman, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, and features production from Ron Browz, Allah Mathematics, J57, and 4th Disciple.

In an interview with Nerdist, Meth briefly stated that he kept it real and low-key, like he does in his studio. He wanted this album to be a platform of exposure for the unheard talents of Staten Island.

He says, “Bottom line is there’s a lot more talent to be heard from Staten Island outside of Wu Tang artists, and these kids are dope. I wanted to just give them a platform to be heard. I’m on every song, but I’m not exactly on any songs by myself, with the exception of one.”

With this clever, yet so creative album scheduled to drop August 21, 2015 this is only the beginning of his musical formula, so stay tuned for further updates!

GZA's 'Liquid Swords' 18 Years Later

By: Kai Jones

On this day, November 7th, 19 years ago GZA The Genius dropped Liquid Swords: what some say is the greatest hip-hop album ever. This is considered in the top 2 Wu-Tang Clan members’ solo album, along with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…While the greatest hip-hop album ever is debatable, if you were to canonize a group of hip-hop albums, I do not know how you could leave this album out.
Liquid Swords is not necessarily a commercial success as no single reached the Top 40 on the Billboard Top 100 and the album never reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 nor the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. While it wasn’t necessarily a big commercial success, it was critically acclaimed. While Liquid Swords isn’t the greatest album commercially, it is significant because of the lyrics, music, and how well the album is put together.

Liquid Swords is one of the most creative and aptly named album titles in hip-hop history. When you listen GZA his flow is like the water of Niagara Falls flowing through, but it’s sharp like a samurai sword. The greatness about this album is that everything comes together perfectly. From GZA writing perfect dark street poetry, to every Wu-Tang Clan member having a fitting feature, to RZA showing his production prowess. While the album featured all 10 members of the Wu-Tang Clan, it seemed as though all the members stepped into GZA’s world and GZA shined on all of them. While RZA has always been a great producer, this may have been his finest of any solo project production. And of course GZA The Genius gave us some of the best imagery and lyrics on an album that we have ever heard, and also it showed that his lyrical expertise is the finest of all the Wu-Tang Clan members.
GZA was a large part of the amazing run Wu-Tang Clan and the members had from 1993-1997, which in my mind cemented them as the greatest rap group to ever touch a microphone.

Ghostface Killah Speaks On Putting His Differences Aside with RZA for 'A Better Tomorrow'

Image Credit: Ghostface Killah's Twitter (@GhostfaceKillah)

Hip Hop may have entered a new era, but the origin of the genre like its pioneers the Wu Tang Clan is forever. In honor of  Wu Tang's Warner Bros. Records deal for their sixth studio album A Better Tomorrow, the group members are back in the spotlight with a positive state of mind. This is especially true for Ghostface Killah as he recently sat down with HipHopWired.com and spoke on his excitement on the group reuniting, expectations for the upcoming album, and even addressed how he and RZA have put aside their differences.

"Me and RZA we had our thing that was even more deeper than just rifting. We ending up in the courts and all this sh-t like that," said Ghost. " So I'm not gonna keep quiet quiet quiet, but I don't gotta let the public know cause at the end of the day we still brothers"

Ghostdini went on to further explain that the two group members have a common goal which is bigger than any of the mishaps that occurred between the two in the past.

“I’m not saying that it went away 100 percent…but we try not to focus on it,” said the rapper. “At the end of the day, this Wu-Tang thing is bigger than me and him. We done created something and that's it. I just want to do my part and let him do his part. Hopefully we can put that together and drive it where it needs to be driven to."

And a better tomorrow it is instead!

The Uncle L we all know and love is back in the studio! LL Cool J has been hard at work cooking up some beastly bars in order to body-check the Hip Hop game; letting nay-sayers know he will always remain legendary. The New York native recently teamed up with dope rappers Raekwon and Murda Mook to release a track titled "I'm Nice" as a teaser off his upcoming fourth studio album G.O.A.T.2.

The Ron Browz produced track reassures fans of LL's sick flow while giving off an old school Hip Hop feel.

LL raps on the track:

"When I’m buzzing out the magnum I ain’t talking ’bout rubbers, when I’m tucking these lames in I ain’t talking about covers/I divorced the gaming and remarried the motherf--ker, sh-t I’m coming on myself, who wanna be my baby mother?"

What can we say other than LL Cool J has still got it going on!

Wu-Tang forever proved to be true after all nine living members of the clan reunited on "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart. Yes, you read it correctly—Raekwon, GZA, RZA, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, Cappadonna and even Ol' Dirty Bastard was there in spirit as they collectively guest starred on the late night talk show on August 7.

The long-lived drama between group members RZA and Raekwon seems to have blown over as they joined their Wu-Tang family to to announce the release of the group's highly anticipated new album A Better Tomorrow which is due out in November 2014.

The group topped off their reunion special by gracing the stage to perform hype renditions of  “Ron O’Neal” and the 1997 single "Triumph."

More Wu Tang! New album(s)on the way, Raekwon & Ghostface release new track, take the stage with The Lox, and more.

On March 18th, 2014, Wu Tang released their first single titled "Keep Watch," off their up incoming album, "A Better Tomorrow." No word yet on when the album release date will be.

Raekwon and Ghostface Killah dropped a single earlier today, "Thim Slick Remix." The song starts off with the original song by Fabolous, ending in Rae and Ghost taking over the end in a VERY raunchy, sexually explicit verse! Check it out here, it's DEFINITELY worth the listen!

A "secret album" titled "Once Upon A Time In Shaolin" WON'T be released, ever. One copy will be made, and sold to the highest bidder, for AT LEAST one MILLION DOLLARS!

Via Spin.com
Wu-Tang reportedly want to restore music's place as art. The single copy of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin will crisscross the world's museums, galleries, and festivals on a tour, just as a work art might, according to Forbes.com, which cites RZA and co-producer Tarik "Cilvaringz" Azzougarh. Heavy security and special headphones will guard against piracy. Dates for the exhibitions have yet to be announced. After the tour is over, Wu-Tang will sell the album — if we're lucky, to a wealthy benefactor who will keep it available for the rest of us.

Last night at the Best Buy Threatre in New York City, The Lox surprised fans by bringing out Rae & Ghost for their 5 Boro Metro PCS Tour. The two came and went without saying anything about their upcoming album, or performing together.

Unfortunately, I was unable to make the concert last night. For a full review of the show, check it out here.
