Knicks on FIRE After 5 Game Losing Streak. More on the Knicks; JR Smith partying in NYC, Melo, Shumpert, & more

Last night, Melo and the Knicks went onto win their third straight game, crushing the Celtics, 114-88.

Carmelo Anthony set a Knicks record on Friday night against the Bobcats, scoring 62 points, the most at the current Madison Square Garden. He broke Bernard King's team mark of 60 points and passed Kobe Bryant's building record of 61. He also passed Kevin Durant's 54 points for most in the NBA this season.

With Melo's contract ending this year, many are wondering where the Knicks forward will be heading to next season. His wife recently stated in an interview with Bravo TV, that she "definitely" thinks he will stay with the Knicks.

Knicks guard Iman Shumpert suffered a sprained right shoulder at last nights game against the Celtics. Head coach Mike Woodson said he wasn't sure how long Shumpert will be out for.

JR Smith was nice enough to pose a picture for me, while out partying with his brother Chris last night, at New York City's posh club Greenhouse. He was amongst other celebrity & athlete guests Amhad Bradshaw, Rico Love, ASAP MOB, and Busta Rhymes.

For about 45 minutes, we witnessed JR standing at the top of the staircase of the bathrooms, as he pulled a few women to the side, chatting it up, and exchanging phone numbers with them. Even more interesting, he kept reaching up (right next to me) to grab a girls ass a few times throughout the night. Playing "hide and seek" like a child, he "grabbed and ducked," trying to keep as low of a profile as he could, which he didn't do very well in succeeding. Smith was "thirsty" in more then one way, as he was drinking a bottle of Corona (while booty squeezing) for the last few minutes, before heading back to his table.

Let's just say, he didn't appear to be sober.

More on A-Rod, Jeter begins on-field work, 5 Yankees filed for arbitration, Brian Roberts, and more.

As we hit almost 2 weeks since MLB announced its reduced game suspension (162 games) for Alex Rodriguez, the Yankees third baseman met with the media, on January 16th.
Rodriguez told the media that he wouldn't address his suspension and other legal issues, but he briefly spoke about his future, now that he's facing a season away from baseball.

"I think that in the year 2014, the league could have done me a favor because I've played 20 years without a timeout," Rodriguez said in his first public comments since his suspension appeal was rejected last week. "I think 2014 will be a year to rest mentally and physically prepare myself for the future and begin a new chapter of my life."

Could A-Rod be giving up and admitting to his mistakes, judging on his last comments?

Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig suspended Rodriguez for 211 games in August, and arbitrator Fredric Horowitz cut the penalty last weekend to the 2014 season and postseason. The arbitrator found "clear and convincing evidence'' that Mr. Rodriguez used 3 banned substances and twice tried to obstruct baseball's investigation of the Biogenesis of America anti-aging clinic.

Rodriguez and his legal team are now suing MLB and the players' association, in an effort to overturn the decision. Rodriguez plans to attend spring training despite the suspension.

The Yankees have picked up yet another free agent, who played the 2013 season for both the White Sox and Red Sox. Matt Thornton, the 37 year old left handed reliever, and the New York Yankees agreed to a 2 year deal. The Yanks also designated outfielder Vernon Wells for assignment, to make room on the 40-man roster.

On January 14, 2014, the Yankees announced they have signed two-time All-Star second baseman, Brian Roberts.

After filing for arbitration, the Yankees have agreed to terms with backup catcher, Francisco Cervelli on a one year deal, reportedly worth $700,000. In addition to other players who have filed for (and then avoided) arbitration, outfielder Brett Gardner will earn $5.6 million, along with right handed pitchers David Robertson, who agreed to a deal worth $5.215 million, Ivan Nova, who settled at $3.3 million and Shawn Kelley received $1.765 million.

Derek Jeter returned to the field yesterday for the first time since the 2013 season. The Yankees shortstop hit off a tee in a batting cage, and fielded grounders, at the minor-league complex in Tampa.

Questions are being asked, as to how reliable Jeter will be this season. The Yankees might be showing too much faith in his health for the 2014 season. The Yankees shortstop suffered a broken ankle, in the postseason of 2012. He returned back to the field in 2013, missing the entire 2013 Spring Training, only to reinjure himself, and be placed on and off the DL for the majority of the 2013 season.

With Jeter turning 40 in June, and 2014 as his last year remaining on his, the Yankees need to start considering an alternative plan. Edwardo Nunez will most likely be taking the "backup shortstop" role, now that Jayson Nix has signed with the Rays.

Kanye West announces new Yeezus Tour dates, then defends his woman by assaulting a teenager the following week.

Kanye West announced more Yeezus Tour dates, earlier last week.  No word yet on if more dates on the west coat will be announced.

By now, you probably already know that Kanye assaulted a man inside a Beverly Hills chiropractors office, after the 18 year old called his fiancé Kim, a "slut" and a "n****r lover." This began after Kim Kardashian was being swarmed by paparazzi. The 18 year old was trying to help the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, by clearing a path for her to get past the photog's. Kanye reportedly punched the man about 30 times, after he made racist and degrading remarks to the future Mrs. West.

Cops were called to the scene. No arrests were made. I guess that's what happens when you're Kanye West.

This happened AFTER Kanye announced that he would stop "ranting" for the next 6 months. While assaulting someone doesn't exactly fall under the category of "ranting," you would think you probably wouldn't be hearing much of Mr. Wests name. He fooled me!

According to a source reporting to US Weekly, Kim is "terrified," as it's being reported that the man shouted, "I will kill you," at the reality star. She is also planning on filing a police report.

The victim of Kanye's assault reportedly wants to press charges, pending an investigation, which was said to be "all on tape," according to Miss Kardashian.

This is reportedly under investigation by the LAPD.

CC Sabathia signs with Roc Nation Sports

Roc Nation Sports, the sports agency started by Jay Z, has signed New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia and will represent him on and off the field.

"CC exemplifies everything Roc Nation looks for in an athlete and a partner," Roc Nation Sports president Juan Perez said in a statement.

Sabathia, 33, has at least three years left on his contract, which comes with a guaranteed $76 million. But when contract conversations do come up, which won't take place until before the 2017 season at the earliest, Roc Nation spokesman Ron Berkowitz said Jay Z and Perez plan on negotiating the pitcher's Roc Nation Sports, the sports agency started by Jay Z, has signed New York Yankees starting pitcher, CC Sabathia, and will represent him on and off the field.

The agency's official Twitter account tweeted a picture of Sabathia signing with the firm:

This photo was running wild on social media last night. Sabathia not only tweeted this, but also posted it on his official Instagram account. This seems to be a "trend." First, Cano signed with Roc Nation last year, and now Sabathia.

Which athlete are you expecting to sign with Jay-Z, and Roc Nation next?

BREAKING NEWS:: Alex Rodriguez suspension reduced from 211 games to 162 games

A-Rod will be out for the entire 2014 season, including the post season in a 162 game suspension, in which he decides to appeal.

In a statement given by Rodriguez,
"I have been clear that I did not use performance-enhancing substances as alleged in the notice of discipline, or violate the Basic Agreement or the Joint Drug Agreement in any manner, and in order to prove it I will take this fight to federal court. I am confident that when a Federal Judge reviews the entirety of the record, the hearsay testimony of a criminal whose own records demonstrate that he dealt drugs to minors, and the lack of credible evidence put forth by MLB, that the judge will find that the panel blatantly disregarded the law and facts, and will overturn the suspension. No player should have to go through what I have been dealing with, and I am exhausting all options to ensure not only that I get justice, but that players' contracts and rights are protected through the next round of bargaining, and that the MLB investigation and arbitration process cannot be used against others in the future the way it is currently being used to unjustly punish me."

“I will continue to work hard to get back on the field and help the Yankees achieve the ultimate goal of winning another championship,” A-Rod said. “I want to sincerely thank my family, all of my friends, and of course the fans and many of my fellow MLB players for the incredible support I received throughout this entire ordeal.”
Keep fighting this A-Rod...I got your back! This is a terrible thing to go through, and my heart aches for him.
