NFL Defensive End, Michael Sam, Cut From St. Louis Rams

Michael Sam, the first openly gay football player drafted into the NFL, was recently cut from the St. Louis Rams on Saturday, August 30. The 24-year-old was a seventh-round draft pick that specialized in the defensive end of the sport. ESPN's NFL Nation reporter Nick Wagoner,who covers the team, released quite a bit of details on the incident.

Nick Wagoner reports:

Sam officially hit waivers Saturday at 4 p.m. ET when all NFL teams had to trim their rosters to the league-mandated 53 players. From there, the other 31 teams will have until noon ET on Sunday to put in a claim for Sam. If he goes unclaimed, he will be free to sign with a practice squad.Ultimately, the Rams decision to cut Michael Sam came down to his football skills. He was good, but nine other defensive lineman were better."There will be no challenge, no challenges whatsoever," for whatever team picks up Sam, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said at a news conference Saturday.

"There's no challenge with respect to Mike Sam. He's not about drawing attention to himself. He kept his head down and worked and you can't ask anything more out of any player for that matter." Fisher repeated over and over that it was purely a football decision."I will tell you this: I was pulling for Mike," he said. "I really was, and I don't say that very often. Mike came in here and did everything we asked him to do."The coach personally delivered the news to all of the cuts, except for Sam, who attended Missouri's opener in Columbia, a 1½-hour drive west on I-70 from Rams Park, and learned via cell phone. 

Michael took to his Twitter account the same day to thank the Rams for the opportunity and hoped for better things to come in the future.

LL Cool J Slays Tinashe's '2 On' Record In A New 'G-Mix'

Who can show you how to get "2 On"  better than the lover boy himself? LL Cool J took to his Twitter account on August 31 to give his fans a pre-Labor day treat by releasing a remix to Tinashe's chart-topping, hit song "2 On." The Hip Hop legend sure enough slayed the smooth beat and even blessed the track with a little old school spin by adding Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's hit song "Nuthing But A 'G' Thang" into the mix.

With the release of this latest remix, LL is letting it be known that he's coming for the kill once he releases his 14th studio album G.O.A.T. 2. The expectations for this project are high; so how do you think the GOAT is going to do?

Ludacris Spills Details About His Upcoming Album 'Ludaversal' To Hip Hop Wired

It's about damn time! Dirty south rapper Ludacris has finally given his fans an update on the delayed released of his latest album Ludaversal. The Atlanta native was recently honored with the President's award at the 2014 BMI R&B & Hip-Hop Awards. While showing some love to the cameras on the red carpet, Luda chatted with Hip Hop Wired and gave a couple brief details on how his album is coming along.

The "Get Back" rapper told Hip Hop Wired:

Everything is not all the way locked up yet but expect the unexpected because it's gonna be the most personal album to date. So nothing like you ever heard and of course I've had some time to work on it in between movies. So just know that it's going to be 100% real. . . and a lot of personal experiences.

It's been a little over four years since this Hip-Hop game changer has released a studio album; so the expectations for Ludaversal are at an all time high.

Fat Joe Sets Fire To Bobby Shmurda's 'Hot N---a' Track

Fat Joe is the latest one to bless Bobby Shmurda's "Hot N---a" track adding nothing but blazing heat to the beat. On the track, the Bronx native gives listeners what he calls a 'crack mix' and even takes time out to welcome his former Terror Squad member, Remy Ma, home from prison.

It seems like everybody in the hip hop game from T.I. all the way down to Lil' Mama has taken a shot at producer Jahlil's quality beat. But the real question is do you think Fat Joe takes the gold with the release of his bars on this latest remix?

NFL Commissioner Open Letter, Aldon Smith Suspension, and more.

This week in Football...

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell apologized on Thursday for his decision in the Ray Rice domestic abuse case. In a letter to NFL owners, Goodell announced the changes to the league's Personal Conduct Policy. 

The letter stated the violations of the Personal Conduct Policy in regards of assault, battery, domestic violence and sexual assault. A second offense, results into banishment from the NFL for a year. 

This applies to all personnel of the NFL, not just players. In the letter, Goodell addresses his failing in pior domestic violence situations. 

"At times, however, and despite our best efforts, we fall short of our goals. We clearly did so in response to a recent incident of domestic violence. We allowed our standards to fall below where they should be and lost an important opportunity to emphasize our strong stance on a critical issue and the effective programs we have in place. My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment, and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families. I take responsibility both for the decision and for ensuring that our actions in the future properly reflect our values. I didn't get it right. Simply put, we have to do better. And we will." 

In other news, The San Francisco 49ers plans without Aldon Smith will come in affect due to his suspension. 

After violating the league's policy on personal conduct and substances of abuse, Smith will be eligible to return for the Week 11 game against the New York Giants. 

General manager Trent Baalke stated, "Our organization has known this decision would come and we have prepared for it as a team.Aldon has taken responsibility for his actions and has continued to show growth personally and professionally. We will continue to support him, but it is time to put this matter behind us and focus on the season ahead." 

The suspension is for four games which includes breaking the rules for substance of abuse and five games for violating the personal conduct policy. 

However, Smith is still allowed to be around the 49ers facilities during his suspension in which the team wanted. 

As the No. 7 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Smith is the fastest player in league to record 30 sacks (27 games).

Andre 3000 talks Jimi Hendrix and Retirement

Andre 3000 has been on the go since April traveling from festival to festival with his partner Big Boi. The group is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album and Andre 3000 also known as Andre Benjamin will be hitting the big screen in late September.

Andre Benjamin will play Jimi Hendrix in "Jimi: All Is by My Side", a biopic of Hendrix's breakthrough year when he relocated to London, transformed his style, and squared off against Eric Clapton. 

Over the years, Andre 3000, now 39, has been though a lot between being a figure in modern pop, transforming into an actor, and dealing with personal problems. From the passing of his parents, Dre has been dealing with self-doubt and depression, while mysterious disappearance from the spot life is called into question. 

As a result of letting himself go, Dre was alone most of the time and believed that the role of Hendrix brought him out of his funk. He described his state of mind, as a "not-so-great space" and shifted his focus once he got into the role of his character. Being surrounded by the cast and crew, Dre was in a good place and worked hard because he didn't want to let anyone down. 

Andre also believes rapping for him is at an end. He stated, "I remember, at like 25, saying, ‘ don’t want to be a 40-year-old rapper. I’m 39 now, and I’m still standing by that. I’m such a fan that I don’t want to infiltrate it with old blood."

Sad News For Wrestling Fans. Is TNA done?

Breaking Dixie Carter's back definitely boosted ratings but the future of TNA'sImpact is still very bleak. Impact may face cancellation if owners can not come to an agreement with Spike TV. TNA's President recently announced, "Impact Wrestling will remain a vital part of Spike TV's programming on Wednesday nights, 9/8c, through the end of the year. Negotiations remain ongoing beyond this point." Seeing as last week Spike was ready to cancel them in October this is a step in the right direction. 

While this may not mean an impending death for Total Nonstop Action, it will be fascinating to see what will happen next.

Update on Joe Budden: Tweets the police, makes statement claiming false allegations, and more.

Rapper Joe Budden has reportedly been a wanted man as of this past weekend by the NYPD. His mugshot was posted on the NYPD Twitter account due to a connection to a robbery which resulted from a domestic violence claim made by his ex-girlfriend. 

The ex, whose name has yet been released, (edit by Editor in Chief Dana Pelotta:: woman goes by the first name of Audely, Instagram: @_audely) police say Budden dragged her out of a restaurant, slammed her head on the dashboard of a car, drover her home while continuing to beat her down. The dispute started over a few Instagram posts when Budden saw his ex-girlfriend posting pictures with other men. 

But the drama didn't start there. 

Budden took to Twitter and tweeted, "I’ll be in a strip club in Astoria tonight. Let the 'Man hunt' know. @NYPDnews,"continued via Twitter. "Glad to see our tax payer dollars being put to good use ! Lol"

Soon after Channel 4 news caught up with Budden at his home in Jersey City, and tried to get Budden's side of the story. "That was me being my own worst enemy. But there is no law against tweets. It's been a frenzy. I was surprised at all of it to be honest. The media circus, the witch hunt, the man hunt."

As of right now, the NYPD are investigating the situation, TMZ has obtained the photographs of Budden's ex-girlfiend of the marks and bruises. 

Joe Budden has not yet released a statement.

NEW HIP HOP ALBUMS THIS FALL:: Eminem's "Shade XV," Fabolous "Young O.G.," and T.I.'s Paperwork.

This fall could be an epic one in hip-hop for heavyhitters Eminem, T.I., and Fabolous as they announce the release of their next projects. 

Eminem's new album titled, Shade XV, release date is set to be November 28th, Black Friday. Recent reports show the rapper and his team tweeting and using the hashtag #SHADYXV since June. Eminem has also been spotted wearing the phrase on a t-shirt at his concerts.

As for T.I, his next album, Paperwork: The Motion Picture, will be released in October of this year and will have guest appearances by Lil Boosie, Jeezy, and Rick Ross. T.I. has teamed up with Pharrell Williams who will be the executive producer of the project.

Fabolous's next project, Young O.G. doesn't have a official release date but he shared details about his upcoming project Lose's Way 2 and believes it's going to "coast the end of the summer out". Fabolous shared news of his upcoming singles that will be featuring Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj this summer and has been working on both Lose's Way 2 and Young OG.

WWE: Monday Night Raw Recap of August 25th, 2014

If you can get Hall of Famers on Raw, don't you think you should make them do something other than sit around and talk about John Cena. Night of Champions is next month and Hogan knows Cena is going to win, Cena knows Cena is going to win, even I know Cena is going to win! Despite every "Cena Sucks" chant, he will prevail. Or Maybe this is just wishful thinking. The only time I'm on Brock's side is when Heyman is screaming in my face that I'm on Brock's side.  

Other highlights from last night...Kane and Rollins delivered a powerful eulogy at Dean Ambrose's funeral. Reigns comes out and beats Rollins with the podium. Later that night, Reigns wins their match by disqualification. The Bella Twins are hard to watch. I really love crazy heel Nikki but Brie is so bad it ruins everything. BRING BACK STEPH!Cena vs Bray Wyatt turned into a six man tag match delivering quite the beat down to the Wyatt Family. 

The Goldust/Stardust heel turn may have been my favorite part of Raw and that's sad. Hopefully next week I'll have something good to write about.

50 Cent Praises Eminem As One of The Best Rappers To Ever Do In The Premiere Episode of Music Choice's New Show 'Chronicles'

50 Cent was never one to hold his tongue; so it was no surprise how real he kept it when he was asked to give an honest view of the Hip Hop game for Music Choice's new show Chronicles. The G-Unit head honcho is the first musical artist to be featured on the show which is set to air on August 26 at 8pmest. In this interview, 50 praises his good friend Eminem as one of the greatest rappers to ever step foot in the Hip Hop game and should be respected regardless of his race.

50 Cent speaks on the raw and unique talent that Eminem posses in the Chronicles episode:

The one Grammy I have is for "Crack a Bottle." I couldn't even have that without Em. You know, and that's why I have so much value for him, not just in my career, just in my life. He's one of my best friends because I can trust that he's gonna be honest with his constructive criticism when it's time to listen to the music before it goes out.
Hip-hop is black music, without question. And unfortunately for some people, it's tough to accept that you've got a white artist that does it better than black artists. It is what it is. As a White man holding a dominate spot in the Hip Hop game, the Shady Aftermath co-founder has held his own within the predominantly Black genre since the late 1990s. His sick flow and lyrical uniqueness has earned him tons of respect from Hip Hop fans and it was dope for 50 cent to publicly recognize Eminem's dedication to the game.

Eminem's Song 'Guts Over Fear' Ft. Sia Featured In The Trailer For The Upcoming Film 'The Equalizer' Starring Denzel Washington

Eminem is set to grace the big screen once agin as his track "Guts Over Fear"featuring Sia is featured in the trailer for the upcoming film The Equalizer. The film stars A-list actor Denzel Washington as Robert McCall and is set to hit theaters on September 26.

Remy Ma Announces Plans To Release Upcoming Mixtape 'I'm Around' In MTV Interview

Does Remy Ma ever sleep? Ever since she was released from her six-year prison stay, Remy has been grinding non-stop by slaying remixes and keeping it real in media. Recently, the raptresses sat down with MTV to share some exciting news. Remy confirmed with the network that she will be releasing her I'm Around mixtape sometime within the next week (late August/early September).

The "Conceited" rapper speaks on her experiences while in prison through the lyrics on her new mixtape.

It's kind of impossible, after being in prison for six and a half years and being home for 19 days, to not talk about what I'm going through right now. It's very hard not to bring up what I went through. In the future, I don't want to dwell on the past. I don't want to dwell on the past now, but that was a large part of my life so it has affected me in a lot of ways. It will show in my music.

Remy also briefly spoke on plans to release an album shortly after the mixtape is released; so be on the lookout for some sick ish because the ruler is back!

Former Death Row Records CEO,Suge Knight, Shot Six Times At Chris Brown's Pre-VMAs Party

A night of partying and getting wasted went terribly wrong for former Death Row Records CEO, Suge Knight, as he was shot multiple times at an unofficial pre-VMAs party hosted by Chris Brown. According to TMZ, shots were fired around 1:30am in the early hours of August 24 at 1OAK in Los Angles, CA which turned out to have hit the super-producer six times.

TMZ reports that eyewitnesses and Suge's family claimed he walked out of the club on his own and was then spotted by a police officer who took the producer to his car until the ambulance arrived. The 49- year-old was rushed straight to the hospital by an ambulance where he underwent emergency surgery.

Chris Brown took to Twitter to express his disappointment in the horrific incident that unfortunately occurred at his party.

@chrisbrown: It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullsh-t!!!

The former Death Row CEO is currently hospitalized in the ICU but is expected to recover.

Female Little League Pitcher Mo'ne Davis, Making Headlines

13 year old Mo'ne Davis has already broken major ground for kid baseball players. Just last week, Davis became the first female pitcher to throw a shutout in the Little League World Series game. She has been the sixth female baseball player to get a hit in the tournament. 

Mo'ne Davis is the first Little League player to ever make the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine. After her teams win in the LLWS, Davis made headlines after being the first female to win a game with a two-hit shutout against South Nashville last week. 

Not only is Davis talented in baseball, but she excellences on the basketball court according to her coach Debra Brady. 

"She's a phenomenal pitcher, but I think her best sport is basketball. In a year or so, she will be doing the same unbelievable things in basketball. She was head and shoulders above any kid I ever coached at that level."

Although the loss against Nevada placed her team, Philadelphia Taney Dragons in the elimination round, Mo'ne Davis continues to surprise us with her positive attitude which means great things are heading her way.

New York Yankees Update:: Cashman, A-Rod, and more.

The New York Yankees are suffering through an average season. As of writing this, they're 9 games back in their division and likely out of the wild card race. Mets' fans would be thrilled with this season. Knicks' fans, sadly, would be equally happy. Yankees' fans? Displeased. Who's to blame? Injuries? The players? GM Brian Cashman?

The knock on the Yankees has been the same since the strike of '94. They buy teams. They have more money than anyone else, and they use that to buy the best players. And, to a certain extent, that's true. The problem with this view, though, is no one knows who the best players are going to be this year, next year, or even, really, next game. Scouts, metric stats, and players' history can only tell you so much. After that, it's a crap shoot. You can only hope your team makes the best decision it can with the information it has.

Absent of a history of injuries for a player, injuries are impossible to predict, and they've cost the Yankees dearly this year. I'm going not to list all their injuries, but at one point almost their entire starting pitching rotation was on the DL. The Yankees' current DL would earn more than half of MLB's teams.

Professional players got where they are for a reason, and they, with very few exceptions, always play their best. Players go hot or cold, sure, but there's way too much money on the line for them to take games off. Rarely can the players be blamed, exclusive of themselves.

So injuries played a part. The players are doing what they can. What's Cashman's role? He signed all these players. He spent big money on Tanaka. He re-signed A Rod. Oh, and most importantly, his contract is up.

Blame Cashman if you want. Blame injuries. Blame average play. But what happened is this: the Yankees ran into a leagueful of bad luck. In times like this, we all would like to lay the blame on one person, one source. If we just get rid of X, everything will be fine. If it was that simple, Brian Cashman wouldn't have his job, you would. Given everything that's gone wrong since A Rod's suspension, an outside shot at a wild card ain't bad.

The Yankees have said they expect A Rod to be healthy and ready to play next year. This is part gamesmanship, and part lobbing a ball into A Rod's court. Of course they expect him to be ready to play. He's still on the payroll.

Yankees' fans are pissed about this year. They're pissed at Cashman. They're pissed at A Rod. Let's remember, though, as we say goodbye to Jeter this year, that Cashman and, yes, A Rod had as much to do with the championship, division titles, and memories since 2004 as Jeter did. Maybe what's missing is the support.

Joe Budden Allegedly Beats Up His Girlfriend

Well well well, THIS doesn't surprise me. SMH! According to TMZ, Joe Budden found pictures of his on & off again girlfriend with some other dude, in which he found her at an NYC restaurant, and beat the shit out of her. TMZ also obtained photos of the alleged beat down FROM HER. Well, that was an easy paycheck. Here's the deal...

I personally witnessed Joe Budden meet this girl, a few months ago (sometime around April 2014), at a club in New Jersey, where she was working. She soon became his girlfriend after that, as I also witnessed him visiting her quite frequently. 

It wasn't long til the both posted cozy photos with each other, on Instagram. It wasn't too long after they started dating, that photos of them surfaced all over other hip hop blogs; "Joe Budden has a new girlfriend," was all over the Internet. Joe seemed totally into this girl. I spoke to him a few times throughout the past few months when I ran into him there, and I never sensed any tension between the two. 

BUT.....it wasn't til about a month ago, when Joe claimed himself as "single" on Twitter, only to AGAIN see his "girlfriend" posting pictures from his house, weeks later. 

Looking at this situation in MY perspective, has his OTHER ex girlfriends ever accused him of assault? Let's look at the bigger picture here, he's been with Tahiry on and off for, I don't know, about 8 years? Not to mention another long relationship with Love & Hip Hop star Kaylin Garcia. No accusations from either of the two. Could this be bullshit? I think so.

WWE Summerslam and Monday Night Raw Recap

So many awesome things have happened in sports this week.SummerSlam exceeded my expectations. Even Raw was entertaining. By far the most important news is Kevin Steen signing a NXTdeal. 

I'm anxiously awaiting his debut. That tubby fucker may be one of my favorite athletes of all time. Steen tells WWEhe's been waiting for this his whole career. I know I've been waiting for this since the moment I saw him in the ROHring. 

On to SummerSlam! As expected, the match of the night goes to Brock vsCena. Impressive show from both men. 12 German suplexes! It was like watching a video game. Brock clearly accomplished his goal, he now holds the WWE World Heavyweight title. 

Paige takes the Diva's Championship. The next few weeks will be huge for Stars like Bray Wyatt, Ziggler, and Reigns who walked away with victories. My favorite champion of the night has to be Stephanie McMahon. We all saw it coming, Nikki turns on Brie. 

Then on Raw, you can't get enough of Paul Heyman. I could watch him talk about anything, even BasicBrockanomics. "Eat, Sleep, Suplex, Repeat." Let's see where this goes. The Ambrose/Rollins feud takes a halt as Ambrose start production on Lockdown. This is the perfect opportunity forZiggler to "deliver the goods." A heart broken Nikki stands up against Brie, heel looks good on her. 

Im actually eager to see Smackdownthis week. Rumor has it, more Reigns, more Goldust & Stardust, and more Curb Stomp! When wrestling is good, it's so, so good!

Immortal Technique Tour Continues​

Immortal Technique, one of underground Hip Hop's most talented artists, continues his tour around the U.S., leaving the crowd "mind-blown." 

It's no secret Immortal Technique has lots of support from his fans, and he is sure he's giving them a performance they deserve. 

One fan stated after the concert, "Hands down the best concert I have ever been to. The DJs were fantastic (DJ Snuff and DJ Static) - great energy and great tunes. The support acts were fantastic - best support acts I have seen." 

Another fan of technique's added, "Technique was AMAZING! He had such a rapport with the crowd and came across as such a genuine, nice guy. It felt like a really intimate concert, much different to paying 5x the price to see Eminem at Wembley, for example. It felt like he really loved being there and he put 110% into the performance. Sim Bhullar To Join The Sacramento Kings as the FIRST Indian with an NBA Contract!

Joining the Sacramento Kings, Sim Bhullarhas became the first player of Indian descent to sign a contract with the NBA. 

Although the terms of his contract are not disclosed, King owner Vivek Ranadive, the league's first Indian-born owner comment on Sim Bhullar's arrival. 

"I've long believed that India is the next great frontier for the NBA, and adding a talented player like Sim only underscores the exponential growth basketball has experienced in that nation. While Sim is the first player of Indian descent to sign with an NBA franchise, he represents one of many that will emerge from that region as the game continues to garner more attention and generate ever-increasing passion among a new generation of Indian fans."

Born in Toronto, Bhullar played two seasons for New Mexico State and averaged 10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks. The 7-foot-5, 360-pound player received Western Athletic Conference tournament MVP honors twice and led his team to back-to-back NCAA tournaments. 

Bhullar was undrafted this spring, but was part of the Kings team that won the NBA's summer league tournament in Las Vegas in July. 

Competing for a spot behind DeMarcus Cousins, Bhullar could join the franchise's NBA Development League to improve on his skill sets. The affiliation will be held in Reno, Nevada, where Bhullar will have more time to flourish as a player and expand his skills.

What You Need To Know About The New NFL "Rules."

The NFL is king. It's a huge industry that dominates sports sometimes even during the off-season. For millions of fans, February to August is unbearably long, and we can't wait for the preseason to come. Then it comes, and we remember how awful it is. This year, though, is different. It's really, really unwatchably awful.

We were warned going into this preseason that officials would focus on illegal contact and defensive holding. Both are already penalties, but when they didn't affect the outcome of the play, in seasons past, the refs kept the flag in their pocket. Not this year.



Through week 2 of the preseason, penalties have nearly doubled over the 
regular season last year, about 24 per game compared to 13 per game. A good portion of these have been defensive holds and illegal contact. 

Fans like scoring, I get it. But can we make offenses earn it? Quarterbacks are untouchable. 6'4" 220 pound wide receivers are, apparently, almost always "defenseless" against much smaller defensive banks. And now we're handing out first downs for illegal contact 40 yards away from the play? Passing numbers are already at all time highs. Maybe Godell will eliminate running the ball altogether next. That'd certainly cut down the number of concussions, right Roger?

A lot was made during the off-season about extra points being too automatic. For the first two weeks of the preseason, PATS have been moved back to make them 33 yards. They were too easy, so they made them harder. Isn't passing the ball a little too easy right now?

Of course, Jimmy Graham took advantage of another rules change Saturday. He caught two TD passes and dunked the ball over the goal post both times, resulting in 30 yards in penalties and $30,000 in fines. The reasoning for this rule? Well, one Graham exposed the poor construction of the goal post in Atlanta last year. Two, these celebrations slow the game down, and there's no time for that with all the extra penalties. But most importantly, players can't taunt opposing defenses. Only the NFL and its rules changes are allowed to do that.

The NFL is saying all of these rules changes are still being evaluated. I'd like to believe them. If defensive penalties are going to be called with this frequency, the automatic first down must be removed, at least. Oh, and Jimmy, quit dunking the ball over the goalpost. No one's impressed.
