From the looks of things, it seems like Lil Tunechi has backed up the dates and stopped the lawsuit from moving forward–for now. Though there have been several allegations and rumors leading up to this $51 million suit, Rollingstone.com, has confirmed that Lil Wayne will NOT proceed to drop the lawsuit on Cash Money, but will file for a new one in New Orleans!

While dubbing the original lawsuit filed in the native land of New York for both Cash Money Records and Universal Music Group, these parties have decided to re-file the lawsuit in New Orleans, where Wayne had originally signed his Cash Money contract. "The claims previously asserted by Lil Wayne and Young Money LLC against Cash Money for substantial monies owed and breach of fiduciary duty have not been settled and will be prosecuted in Louisiana as expeditiously as possible,” Weezy’s camp told The Rolling Stone.
Unfortunately, this fiasco came upon us when the Stuntin’ Like My Daddy rapper took to social media that he wanted off of his label, Cash Money Records in December. He accused Cash Money and it’s CEO Bryan Birdman Williams of refusing to release his new album The Carter V, and pay him the $8 million advance that was reportedly promised to him. Alongside of social media rants, he expressed his concerns on his latest mixtape Sorry For The Wait 2, Coco Freestyle. Yes, shots were definitely fired, and at this point Lil Wayne has no words for Birdman, according to The Rolling Stone.
Although the artist was not able let his hair down on the Carter V album, Wayne has not slowed down a bit with his up-and-coming project titled Free Weezy. As Wayne has been out promoting his album at clubs, and many other events, Birdman has been doing a little self promo while rekindling the old flame with the Leather So Soft throwback at a few of the Young Thug concerts. The feud between these two seem to be getting quite steamy with club appearance shade and more!
We can only hope for the best in this situation, because who would have ever imagined the day of Birdman and Birdman Jr. coming to a close! Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Shit got real crazy in the City of Brotherly Love this past Saturday when Travis Scott and Young Thug brought the Rodeo Tour to Philly for a stop at the Trocadero. If you're a fan of either of these two controversial performers, this tour is everything you could have ever hoped for, and if you're not a fan, or even just a bit curious as to what all the hype is about, the Rodeo Tour can turn even the most skeptical of non-believers.

Thugger and Travis take the term 'Turn Up' to a whole new level on the Rodeo Tour, and it's safe to say the Trocadero hadn't seen a show quite like this in a long time. A sold out crowd was lined up around the block and throughout the surrounding Chinatown neighborhood for hours before doors opened, and by the time they got inside the building...it was ON. If you've ever been to a death metal concert, you know what a mosh pit looks like. Now picture that same scene spread out among 1,500 crazy motherfuckers who just don't give a fuck, and you've got the Rodeo Tour. The building was shaking before Thug or Scott even hit the stage, thanks to a ridiculous warmup set from one of the hottest DJ's in the game right now...Metro Boomin' as he took shit from a 10 to a 12 before anyone even touched a microphone.
The actual live show started over an hour late, but judging by the reception from the crowd when Young Thug and Travis Scott took the stage in tandem, they would've waited all night for the arrival of two of the games most controversial young talents. It's no secret Young Thug is surrounded by controversy, and Travis Scott is controversial in his own right, but less than 10 minutes into their set, it was obvious to see why Young Thug remains one of the most popular figures in hip hop, and Travis Scott is well on his way to claiming the title of 'Next.'
The energy Travis Scott brings to the stage is undeniable, and is matched and exceeded only by his unusually loyal fans who react to every word that comes out of his mouth and create an ocean of movement you won't see anywhere but the Rodeo Tour. Travis Scott is on the come up, and he's hungry. Like Young Thug, he doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks, and is clearly there to do his thing, his way, and his thing is apparently getting fucking crazy. Looking down from the balcony of the Trocadero as Travis belted out hit after hit as the rowdy crowd railed against one other, two thoughts immediately came to mind: "Damn I'm glad I'm not down there," and "Damn, that looks FUN!" Hopefully Travis Scott makes another stop in Philly soon, and if he does, it's safe to say 1,500 fans will be waiting for him again.
Young Thug brings the same "Fuck it" attitude as Travis Scott, only with a slightly more polished and swaggered demeanor. Thug knows people are watching him, and he doesn't care. He has his own unique personality and style, both on and off the mic, and he brings an undeniable charisma to the stage along with it. Thug's catalogue has continued to grow in recent years, full of hits that are recognizable from the first second the track hits. Thug has that one of a kind delivery that draws you in, and he brought it to Philly. The same crowd that reacted with reckless abandon for Travis Scott gave Thug's offering the same response, rapping along with the Atlanta based star as he put his flow on display for the full house. You can tell Thug is in the zone when he hits the stage. Not sure what 'zone' he is in on any given day, but it's a zone of his own and it translates to an entertaining performance every time.
For those wondering, there was no 'dissing' from Thug towards his on-again, off-again sidekick Rich Homie Quan or Lil Wayne, but he did make sure to surprise the crowd by bringing out the one and only Birdman for the show's grand finale. The Cash Money legend helped close the show in style, performing some of his classic hits for an appreciative crowd before thanking them for their support and leaving on top, where he has been for close to 20 years.
The Rodeo Tour delivered in all aspects. Thug and Travis Scott hit on all cylinders and fulfilled the promise of a crazy night at the Trocadero. If Thug can stay focused, the sky remains the limit for him, and Travis Scott seems to only be scratching the surface of his potential. The future is bright for both. Hopefully this isn't the last Philly sees of this duo and if they come back.....we will be there.
Birdman and Busta Rhymes end things on a positive note.....
After two years of being a part of the family, Busta Rhymes has decided to part ways with his most recent recording label, Cash Money Records. The Hip Hop legend left Birdman on a positive note, but simply felt that he was not willing to compromise his vision for his album. He had been working on an album for about five years now and made many sacrifices. In the process of this album, he lost his father in late January, and Longtime friend and manager, Chris Lightly in August of 2012. All of that baggage carried into the making of his work, made times imaginably hard. He had a certain vision for the way he wanted his album to be structured, and in the end, that couldn't be executed the way he envisioned. So, Birdman and Busta Rhymes parted ways.
In a previous video, Busta Rhymes states, “we ain’t facilitating everything necessary for the vision to be seen and executed in the way I’m envisioning this sh– for the last five years, let me live and die in my own inequity.” Although Busta Rhymes and Birdman have done great work with one another, before and during the link of Cash Money, this will definitely not be the end of these two creating something great for the world to endure. Unfortunately, Busta Rhymes is not affiliated with Cash Money anymore. However this does not mean that this will be the end for future collaborations and projects, between him and the artists affiliated with the label. These are two iconic names that have done tremendous deeds in the industry; -once family, always family.
No bridges have been burnt, so there are no limits as to what may happen, between the two in the future.
